Shortly before 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, one person was killed and another was injured in a crash on the 210 Freeway in La Verne, reported the Los Angeles Times. While traveling on the eastbound 210 Freeway, a dump truck collided with a car near Fruit Street, the impact sending the truck through the center divider. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders transported the other to a hospital. Authorities are investigating the collision.

The California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current statistics indicate that 126 people were killed or injured in motor vehicle collisions that occurred in La Verne in 2011. Los Angeles accounted for 47 of the 245 fatal and 1,607 of the 5,155 injury collisions involving large trucks that occurred in California that year.
