At about 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 82-year-old bicyclist Peter Tomaino was fatally injured in a collision with a vehicle in Laguna Hills, reported the Orange County Register. According to witnesses, Tomaino was crossing the west side of Paseo De Valencia from a Ralphs parking lot south of Alicia Parkway when he collided with a southbound vehicle. Emergency responders transported him to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities are investigating who had the right of way; they do not suspect that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors. Witnesses are asked to contact the sheriff’s traffic bureau at 949-425-1860.
