Laguna Niguel: Vehicle Struck, Seriously Injured Female Pedestrian
Posted on Oct 02, 2012
At about 2:45 p.m. on Monday, October 1, a vehicle struck and seriously injured a female pedestrian in Laguna Niguel. The 43-year-old woman was traversing a crosswalk at the intersection of Moulton Parkway and Aliso Niguel when a 1997 Honda Civic hit her. She sustained head trauma and leg injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The 45-year-old male driver of the Civic also suffered an injury to his arm and received medical attention. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“After an accident, the at-fault party may be responsible for compensating those who were injured for the cost of their recoveries,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.
Laguna Niguel accounted for none of the 32 fatalities and 8 of the 809 injuries suffered by pedestrians in traffic accidents that occurred in Orange County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Laguna Niguel ranked 93rd out of 103 cities with similarly sized populations for its incidence of fatal and injury pedestrian accidents. The California Office of Traffic Safety ranks the cities with the worst safety records the highest, with 1st place considered the worst.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the female pedestrian who was struck and injured. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the driver.
The Orange County Register originally reported this Laguna Niguel accident.
