Lake Elsinore: Three Seriously Injured in Car Crash

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014, three people were seriously injured in a car crash in Lake Elsinore, reported The Press-Enterprise. A vehicle slammed into a block wall on Hillside Drive at Parkside Drive, trapping two occupants. Emergency responders extricated them from the wreckage and transported them, along with one other victim, to a hospital to receive treatment for major trauma. Authorities are investigating the accident.
Lake Elsinore accounted for 5 of the 153 fatal and 227 of the 10,025 injury motor vehicle accidents that occurred in Riverside County in 2011, according to the most current crash statistics the California Highway Patrol has posted to its website. The California Office of Traffic Safety compared the incidence of fatal and injury crashes that occurred in Lake Elsinore to that of 101 other cities with populations of between 50,001 and 100,000 and ranked Lake Elsinore 48th.
