Lakeland Village: Two Injured in Collision

At about 9:21 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014, two people were injured in a crash in Lakeland Village, reported The Press-Enterprise. The two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Gregory Place. Emergency responders had to extricate one person from the wreckage. That person was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for major trauma. Another person suffered minor injuries. The accident is under investigation.
The California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records indicate that 10,924 people were killed or injured in crashes in Riverside County in 2011. Riverside ranked 53rd out of 58 counties for its incidence of fatal and injury accidents in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst. Statewide, 2,857 people lost their lives in traffic accidents in 2012, 1.5 percent more than the year prior.
