Long Beach: Two Killed in Crash on Ocean Boulevard

At about 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014, two people were killed in a crash on East Ocean Boulevard and South 9th Place, reported the Los Angeles Times. The collision involved a car, a motorcycle, and a pedestrian. Police did not indicate which parties were fatally injured. The accident is under investigation.
Throughout the city of Long Beach, 1,880 people were killed or injured in motor vehicle collisions in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. Pedestrians accounted for 217 of the victims and motorcyclists for 74. From 9 p.m. to 2:59 a.m. there were 195 crashes that resulted in death or injury in Long Beach that year.
