In Orange County and Los Angeles County, lots of oil and slime get deposited on our freeways all year long. Because we have little rain during the summer months, oil deposits accumulate. Every fall, when we get our first rains, accidents increase. Here are some ways for you to avoid an accident during our first rain today and tomorrow.
First. Drive further back from the car ahead of you. If they have to stop, you may not be able to stop as fast as you would normally enjoy.
Second. Stay away from trucks that are in the lanes to your right and left. Trucks are a real hazard on slippery surfaces.
Third. Remember that the roads are slippery. Make lane changes more slowly and do not speed on the freeway.
Lastly, drive defensively to avoid a collision with someone else that is not following these simple guidelines. If you are invoved in an accident, call us for assistance at 1 866 981-5596.
