Manslaughter charges continue to be pressed by Orange County prosecutors for 100MPH drunk driving collision.

Orange County District Attorney’s Office has charged Richard Ernest Caselli with gross vehicular manslaughter for the death of Brook Boyton.
The accident occurred on the 73 toll road just north of Laguna Canyon Road. Caselli was travelling southbound in his Volvo sedan with speeds in excess of 100 mph. Caselli then struck Boytons’ sport utility vehicle from behind, which caused the SUV to spin out of control and roll over. Boyton was thrown from the vehicle and later died at the scene from blunt force trauma injuries.
The California Highway Patrol stated that Caselli failed to perform the sobriety test but showed signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody and booked in the Orange County jail.
Caselli was arraigned this week at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach. If convicted, prosecutors are requesting $100,000 bail. He faces a maximum 10 year sentence in state prison.
