North Hills: One Killed in Collision Involving Flatbed Truck

At about 6:10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, one person was killed in a collision involving a flatbed truck in North Hills, reported the Los Angeles Times. The truck, which was hauling tractor equipment at the time, ran over a sedan in the 15800 block of Plummer Street. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the accident.
According to the most currently available California Office of Traffic Safety crash data, 72,593 people were killed or injured in motor vehicle collisions in Los Angeles County in 2011. Compared to 57 other California counties, Los Angeles ranked the 9th worst for traffic safety. Statewide, 2,816 people lost their lives in collisions that year.
