Norwalk: Eight Injured, One Seriously, in Collision on 5 Freeway
Posted on Nov 01, 2012
Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, eight people were injured, one seriously, in a three-vehicle collision on the 5 Freeway in Norwalk. The accident occurred in southbound lanes near Rosecrans Avenue. Emergency responders transported the injured to area hospitals. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“When a motor vehicle collision injures occupants, the driver who caused the crash may be held liable for the cost of the victims’ recoveries,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis, “including for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”
Norwalk accounted for 2 of the 346 fatalities and 617 of the 62,881 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in crashes that occurred in Los Angeles County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Twenty-nine of the fatal and injury collisions in the city that year occurred between 9 p.m. and 2:59 a.m.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the eight people who were injured in the collision on the 5 Freeway.
