Posted on Jun 04, 2014
At about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014, a truck struck and killed a 7-year-old boy in Pasadena, reported the Los Angeles Times. The truck hit the boy when he stepped into a crosswalk at the corner of Hill Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities as they investigate the accident.
Pasadena ranked poorly for both traffic collisions and accidents involving pedestrians in 2011, the most current year for which the California Office of Traffic Safety has published crash data. That year, 959 people were killed or injured in motor vehicle collisions, for which the city ranked the 2nd worst in the state; 73 pedestrians lost their lives or suffered trauma in accidents, for which Pasadena ranked the 4th worst.
Under California law, the families of those who have been killed in traffic accidents may file wrongful death claims against the at-fault party in order to obtain compensation for their loss. For more information, please call 888-752-7474 or contact us online.
