Pomona: Aura Margarita Rojas Killed in Pedestrian Accident
Posted on Jan 31, 2013
At about 6 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 61-year-old Aura Margarita Rojas was killed in a pedestrian accident in Pomona. A vehicle struck Rojas as she crossed the street in the 800 block of West Orange Grove Avenue. Witnesses, or anyone with information concerning this accident, are asked to contact Pomona’s Major Accident Investigation Team at 909-620-2156.
“When a family loses a loved one to a traffic accident, they may file a wrongful death claim against the negligent driver in order to be compensated for their loss,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.
Pomona accounted for 4 of the 198 fatalities and 51 of the 4,786 injuries suffered by pedestrians in accidents that occurred in Los Angeles County in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety ranked Pomona 18th out of 53 cities with similarly sized populations for its incidence of pedestrian accidents resulting in injury or death; 1st place is the worst possible ranking.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Aura Margarita Rojas.
The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin originally reported this Pomona pedestrian accident.
