Rancho Mirage: One Killed, One Injured in Crash

At about 2:34 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014, one person was killed and another was injured in a crash in Rancho Mirage, reported The Press-Enterprise. The two-vehicle collision occurred at Bob Hope and Dinah Shore Drives, the impact causing one of the vehicles to overturn. Emergency responders transported the surviving driver to an area hospital to receive treatment for non life-threatening injuries.
Rancho Mirage accounted for 1 of the 153 deaths and 110 of the 10,025 injuries motor vehicle occupants suffered in collisions that occurred in Riverside County in 2011, according to the California Highway Patrol. The California Office of Traffic Safety ranked Riverside County 7th out of 58 counties for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes that year in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst.
