Rialto: Passenger Vanessa Fisher Killed in Crash
Posted on Aug 03, 2012
Shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1st, 49-year-old passenger Vanessa Fisher, of San Bernardino, was killed in a crash in Rialto. The accident occurred in the 2000 block of North Riverside Avenue when the Honda sedan in which Fisher was riding slammed into a utility pole. Paramedics transported her to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
“When a driver’s negligence causes the death of a passenger, the family of the victim may hold the driver liable by filing a wrongful death claim,” explained California car accident attorney James Ballidis.
Rialto accounted for 3 of the 192 fatalities and 325 of the 10,983 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in San Bernardino County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, traffic collisions claimed the lives of 3,081 people in the state.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Vanessa Fisher, the passenger who was killed in the crash last Wednesday.
