Rubidoux: One killed, One Injured in Semi Crash
Posted on Jul 08, 2012
At about 10:36 p.m. on Saturday, July 7th, one person was killed and another was injured in a semi crash on Highway 60 in Rubidoux. The accident occurred east of Valley Way. Paramedics transported the injured person to a local hospital to receive treatment for moderate trauma. Several lanes of the freeway were closed for hours while authorities investigated the collision.
“Larger and heavier than passenger vehicles, semi trucks have the potential to cause a major impact in an accident, with the injuries suffered in such incidents oftentimes more severe than in other types of collisions,” explained California truck accident attorney James Ballidis.
In 2009, 172 people lost their lives and another 10,963 were injured in traffic collisions that occurred throughout Riverside County, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, large trucks were involved in 14 of the fatal and 297 of the injury crashes that occurred in the county.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the person who was killed in the semi crash. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the person who was injured.
