San Bernardino: Four Injured in I-215 Semi Crash

Shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, four people were injured in a semi crash on I-215 in San Bernardino, reported The Press-Enterprise. While traveling on the southbound side of the freeway, a semi jack-knifed and overturned. When its tractor jumped the center divider wall, it landed on the bed of a black Ford F150 truck on the northbound side. The truck driver, two occupants of the Ford, and an occupant of a black SUV that was also involved in the crash were transported to hospitals to receive treatment for trauma ranging from minor to moderate. The accident is under investigation.
In San Bernardino, 978 people were killed or injured in crashes that occurred in 2011, the most current year for which the California Office of Traffic Safety has posted accident statistics. Large trucks were involved in 29 of the fatal and 438 of the injury crashes that occurred in San Bernardino County that year. The OTS ranked San Bernardino 23rd out of 55 cities for the number of crashes resulting in injury or death that occurred there.
