San Jacinto: Six Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash

At about 5 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, six people were injured in a two-vehicle crash north of San Jacinto, reported The Press-Enterprise. The collision occurred on Gilman Springs Road and Country Club Drive. Firefighters had to extricate two people from the wreckage. Emergency responders airlifted one person who suffered major trauma to a hospital and transported the others to hospitals via ambulance to receive treatment for minor to moderate injuries. Authorities are investigating the crash.
Motor vehicle collisions claimed the lives of or caused injury to 145 people in San Jacinto in 2011, the most current year for which the California Office of Traffic Safety has published crash data. San Jacinto ranked 36th out of 94 cities with populations of between 25,001 and 50,000 for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst. Throughout California, 2,816 people died in traffic accidents that year.
