“When a motor vehicle collision causes injury, the at-fault driver may be held liable for the expense of the victims’ recovery,” explained an auto accident attorney in Orange County,” including medical bills, lost earnings, and pain and suffering.”
Santa Ana accounted for 2 of the 101 fatalities and 1,625 of the 16,620 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in traffic collisions throughout Orange County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Comparing the accident data of 13 cities with populations of more than 250,000 residents, the California Office of Traffic Safety ranked Santa Ana 6th for fatal and injury collisions, which is about average considering that 1st place is the worst a city can receive.
