Santa Ana: Van Struck, Critically Injured Pedestrian

At around 6:15 a.m. this morning, a van struck and critically injured a pedestrian in Santa Ana. While crossing at the intersection of McFadden Avenue and Bristol Street, a 41-year-old man was hit by a Ford van, suffering major head trauma from the impact. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital. Authorities are investigating the accident and have asked witnesses to contact the Santa Ana police at 714-245-8701, explains an Orange County injury lawyer.

Santa Ana accounted for 7 of the 41 fatalities and 160 of the 914 injuries suffered by pedestrians in traffic accidents in Orange County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Throughout the state, such accidents claimed the lives of 596 pedestrians and injured another 13,083.
