Posted on Jul 24, 2012
At about 8:15 p.m. on Monday, July 23, a vehicle struck and seriously injured a man sitting on a bus bench in Seal Beach. The accident occurred on Seal Beach Boulevard near Pacific Coast Highway. After emergency responders freed the man from the debris, he was transported to a hospital to receive treatment for major trauma. Authorities are investigating the crash and have asked that witnesses contact Seal Beach Traffic Investigator Brad Davis at 562-799-4100.
“When a driver’s negligence causes harm to another, the victim may seek compensation from the driver for expenses associated with his or her recovery,” explained a pedestrian rights lawyer in Orange County.
Huntington Beach accounted for 3 of the 41 fatalities and 60 of the 914 injuries suffered by pedestrians in traffic accidents in Orange County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, traffic accidents claimed the lives of 567 pedestrians in the state.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the man who was struck and seriously injured while sitting on the bus bench.
The Orange County Register originally reported this Seal Beach accident.
