Silverado Canyon: Motorcyclist Injured in Head-On Crash
Posted on Jan 08, 2014
At about 12:41 p.m. on Monday, January 6, a 23-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a head-on crash with a van in Silverado Canyon, reported the Orange County Register. The man was riding with a group of motorcyclists when the collision occurred at 30502 Silverado Canyon Road. The rider sustained fractures and head trauma and was taken to an area hospital. Authorities are investigating the crash.
Not only are motorcycles less visible than other cars on the road, they also lack the protection of an enclosed vehicle, making riders more susceptible to suffering serious injury in an accident. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that per mile traveled in 2010, the number of fatalities on motorcycles was about 30 times the number in cars.
While riders may face more risks than others motorists, they still have the right to seek compensation for recovery-related expenses after an accident caused by the negligence of another driver. For more information on the rights of motorcycle riders after an accident, please call 866-981-5596 or contact our Orange County office through our website.
Everyone at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the motorcyclist who was injured in the head-on crash.
