Toyota has finally done it, they admitted they have an accelerator problem and are recalling cars to fix it.
Toyota has been linked to several high profile claims of lying and hiding evidence, deaths and acceleration problems.
They steadfastly denied it was a mechanical problem over the years instead suggesting driver error and later pedals stuck under the floor mat. Well finally they have agreed to recall because the problem is real and needs to be addressed. Toyota said Thursday it is recalling 2.3 million vehicles in the U.S. to fix accelerator.
The recall affects the RAV4, the Corolla, the Matrix, the Avalon, the Camry, the 2010 Tundra and the Sequoia. To see if your year car is being recalled, check the Toyota web sites.
Toyota has agreed that this recall is related to a gas pedal issue and not stuck accelerator under a floor mat. Toyota has not elaborated on the exact cause or solution, but the recall should solve a long standing danger to all motorists in the US subjected to these acceleration problems.
