The other victim, however, was trapped in one of the vehicles; firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free her from the wreckage. Additional information on the circumstances of the accident has not been released, explains an Orange County injury lawyer.
In 2009, the most recent year for which the California Office of Traffic Safety has released accident statistics, a total of 18,867 people were killed and injured in traffic collisions. Moreover, Orange County ranked 32 out of 58 counties with similar populations for fatal and injury traffic accidents. The California OTS ranks counties and cities by the number of victims or collisions per 1000 residents in a population group. A ranking of 1 indicates that a county had the highest number of collisions or victims of all counties its size in the state.
