The California Highway Patrol is investigating the big rig crash that killed the driver and injured several other people.
Orange County Register reports that that the big rig crash took place on the 57 freeway near Chapman Avenue. The accident occurred at around 7pm when the truck driver was transporting meat products near the campus of Cal State Fullerton. After swerving across several lanes and bursting into flames, the truck then crossed the median divider to finally land in northbound lanes.
A local area emergency medical services (EMS) team pronounced the truck driver dead at the scene. In the other car which was hit, there were four occupants who all sustained injuries. They were all transported to local area hospitals but did not have life-threatening injuries.
