Valley Glen: Three Injured in Multiple-Vehicle Collision Involving Wrong-Way Driver
Posted on Jun 19, 2012
Shortly before 7:23 a.m. this morning, three people were injured in a multiple-vehicle collision involving a wrong-way driver in the Valley Glen area of the San Fernando Valley. The crash was triggered when a vehicle heading eastbound in the westbound lane of Victory Boulevard slammed into another vehicle, the impact causing them to spin out and collide with as many as four other vehicles. Paramedics transported three people, one of them in critical condition, to local hospitals.
“When a motorist’s negligence contributes to an accident causing injury to others, the motorist may be held liable for the victims’ injury-related expenses,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.
Traffic crashes claimed the lives of 390 passenger vehicle occupants and injured another 64,178 in Los Angeles County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s most current collision data. Driving on the wrong side of the road was a primary collision factor in 157 of the fatal and 5,552 of the injury accidents that occurred in the state that year.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the three people who were injured in the crash involving the wrong-way driver.
