Victorville: Dennise Chavez and One Other Injured in Crash

At around 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2014, Dennise Chavez and the driver of a Toyota truck were injured in a crash in Victorville, reported the Daily Press. While traveling southbound on Ninth Avenue in a BMW sedan, Chavez collided with the truck, which was traveling westbound, in the westbound lanes of Bear Valley Road. Emergency responders had to extricate Chavez from the wreckage. She was flown to an area hospital. The driver of the truck was also taken to a hospital. The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash and has asked that anyone with information about it contact Deputy Stone at 760-241-2911.
In 2011, 375 people were killed or injured in motor vehicle collisions that occurred in Victorville, according to the California Highway Patrol’s most current crash records. The OTS ranked Victorville 45th out of 55 cities for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes that year in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst. Statewide, 2,816 people lost their lives in collisions in 2012, 1.5 percent more than the year prior.
