Posted on Oct 13, 2014

At about 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2014, a woman was killed and 5 people were injured in a crash in Victorville, reported The Press-Enterprise. The two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Cypress Avenue and Lindero Street. A woman was trapped after the vehicle she was riding in rolled over and partially ejected her. Firefighters were able to free her after about 30 minutes. Emergency responders airlifted an infant, a female juvenile, and a woman to the hospital to receive treatment for major trauma. Two others were also taken to hospitals to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are investigating the crash.

Motor vehicle collisions claimed the lives of or caused injury to 375 people in Victorville in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current crash records. The OTS ranked Victorville 45th out of 55 cities with populations of between 100,001 and 250,000 for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst. Throughout San Bernardino County, 11,627 people were killed or injured in crashes that year.
