Woman Dies In Westminster Rear-end Accident

One woman is dead after a multi-vehicle accident on the 405 Freeway.
 
The Orange County highway accident occurred on Wednesday, April 27 just before 11 a.m. Traffic was heavy on the 405 and the drivers of a 2000 Porsche and a 2006 Hyundai had slowed down and stopped in the No. 1 of the northbound 405 near Edwards Street. But, a third driver in a 2006 Toyota did not stop and crashed onto the Hyundai.  The Hyundai was pushed into the Porsche and both vehicles ended up on the center divider.
 
The driver of the Hyundai, 23-year-old Deanna Mauer of Fountain Valley, suffered critical injuries.  She was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange.  She was pronounced dead at 6 p.m.
 
Two others, a man and a woman, sustained minor injuries.  They were taken to Fountain Valley Hospital and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
 
The cause of the Winchester car crash is under investigation. No arrests have been made.
