Woodcrest: Five Injured in Multiple-Vehicle Crash

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014, five people were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash in the Woodcrest community of Riverside, reported The Press-Enterprise. The collision, which involved four vehicles, occurred at Dooley Place and Washington Street. Firefighters had to extricate two people from the wreckage. Emergency responders transported five people to area hospitals. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. 



Throughout Riverside County, 10,924 people were killed or injured in motor vehicle crashes in 2011, according to the most current crash statistics from the California Office of Traffic Safety. Riverside ranked well for traffic safety when compared to 57 other California counties, placing 53rd. Of the crashes that occurred in the county that year, 965 happened between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2:59 a.m.
