Xerxes M. Baldonasa Injured in Crash with Former Laker Robert Horry

Posted on Jan 16, 2014

At about 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 44-year-old motorcyclist Xerxes M. Baldonasa, of Long Beach, was injured in a crash with former Laker Robert Horry, reported the Los Angeles Times. While riding eastbound on the 105 Freeway between the carpool lane and the No.1 lane, Baldonasa collided with Horry’s 2014 Infiniti when he attempted to cross the double yellow lines and enter the carpool lane west of Normandie Avenue. Baldonasa suffered moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital. Horry was not hurt. The crash is under investigation.

Throughout Los Angeles County, 3,155 motorcyclists were killed or injured in collisions in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current crash data. The OTS compares the accident records of the state’s 58 counties, giving those with the poorest records the highest rankings, starting with 1st place. That year, Los Angeles ranked 32nd for its incidence of fatal and injury motorcycle accidents.

California motorcyclists have rights and may seek compensation for recovery-related expenses after a collision from the at-fault driver. For more information on the rights of riders in the state, please call 866-981-5596 or contact our office online.
