Technology is a really interesting evolving thing. It’s going on every day, something new, something better is coming along. In accident reconstruction we can now create, if the case warrants it, we can create practically a life like video of how that accident occurred and give somebody an opportunity to see something rather than just to hear about it. You know some of us are auditory. We hear things. Some of us see things, and we have to communicate to both. So visually it’s in a courtroom all of this is important. Technology is a part of that. It’s expensive, so we want to use it only when we really have to.
Technology also provides us with some opportunities that we didn’t see 10 or 15 years ago to figure out what happened. There are now computer programs that model crashes. So before it used to be that we had to kind of sort of estimate how the accident occurred based upon what we saw physically and the damage to the cars. Now we can recreate a lot of accidents through the technology. But recognize too that it is not only just technology that I would use directly. You go in for a spinal MRI right now, that’s all technology. 25 years ago the doctor held an X-ray up to the light box, and said, well I see a little bit different size of vertebrate here, so I think he has got a disc. Now it’s not perfect, but there is certainly strong evidence that there is an injury there. So technology is helping our clients get better too.
